What Matters Most

Did you know that hams are on sale this week? Everyone should know that hams are on sale... and yams... don't forget the yams... or maybe you prefer the cheesy potato option, I bet those ingredients are on sale too. Hard boiled eggs, stuff for the little kids rushing to find where they may be hidden, spiffy dresses and dapper duds, bright colors and in Minnesota here it means the retreat of boots and mittens.... and the advance of flip flops... MAYBE. Sale flyers, deals, preparations, everywhere you look. "A new season is upon us! Spend! Buy! Get! Prepare!"

I am not saying that it is bad to celebrate - I happen to like ham - but what are we celebrating? Spring? Are we forgetting What Matters Most?

John 3:16 "For God So Loved The World That He Gave His Only Begotten Son, That Whosoever Believes In Him Shall Not Perish, But Have Eternal Life."

To me, the gifts given are not meaningful or more substantial because of the packaging. THIS. This week. These days. Simple to read in story form, complex to understand the sacrifice - heart moving to know of the sacrifice for me. The sacrifice for you. That is what matters most.

When you meet with family, friends, when you have fun with the kiddos, and eat that yummy ham - remember what matters most.

A True Love.

His Only Son.

A Perfect Life.

A Simple Cross.

A Selfless Sacrifice.

A Veil Torn.

A Relationship Restored.

THE RESURRECTED LORD.

Jesus Christ.

Chains Destroyed.

Death Devoid.

Believing In Him.

My Life To Give.

Hope Is Born.

My Heart Is Changed - Forevermore.

Happy Easter, may you celebrate that He Died, Was Buried and Is Risen, INDEED!!!
